I never said it would! I just know that residential ac has lot more power than dc lol. Im sure we have all felt what a outlet on a 110 will do to you haha. But if he doesnt want to spend more money then thats on him.

But no matter how you look at it, 12 gauge power wire, stranded or not, isn't worth a whole lot. No one said you had to go get 4 gauge, especially at $3 a foot. Thats getting close to 1/0 prices. For example, here is some cheaper 8 gauge wire that would probably take care of you with 100 watts.

If you were set on 4 gauge, here is some for less than $1 a foot. (probably around $1 a foot after shipping)
