Guest
a btl shouldnt even get warm after 10 minutes with 2500rms going to it...if you have the amp settinsg all the way up, thats not deemed as "full tilt"
Kian
My sub never got hot just around little warmer then room temp. Then what is actually considered "full tilt"? Guest
My sub never got hot just around little warmer then room temp. Then what is actually considered "full tilt"? full tilt is considered as running your amp as hard as it can go w/o clipping.

Boon
My sub never got hot just around little warmer then room temp. Then what is actually considered "full tilt"? You really don't know what the gain setting does, do you... I guarantee you're clipping the shit out of it. That amp could make 2500w with the gain set to minimum. I can play my 9515 for half an hour with a clean 3.5kw on it and it doesn't even get warm, you're obviously thrashing your stuff. Quote 10.x volts fo' life! Guest
how are we supposed to tell if its clipping or not from videos...
Kian
you're obviously thrashing your stuff. I dont know why your saying that. i broke in my sub in for 2 weeks before i even touched my gain. I only then slowly raised it in week incriminates. Nothing ever gets hot. I never smelled anything burning. So how am i trashing my stuff? No i dont have a ocilliscope. If i'm doing something wrong please tell me. that's why i am on these forums to learn i always thought i was doing the right thing. No i dont have a ocilliscope. you dont need an oscilloscope, get a DMM and tune it right. you dont keep turning the gain up. the gain isnt a volume knob, its to tell the amp how much voltage is coming in from the headunit pre-outs.
