meade916
looks good man, i can apprciate the shine from regular spray paint. You should have probably done more prep work though before painting it. I can see every blemish, screw "indentation", and seam on that box. The shinyness is nice but it really brings out the flaws man. Dont take offense man just constructive critism. kickerlivinloud
Yea, the 1 box were you can see the screws, I don't have much of an expectation for. I doubt I'll even wetsand it. It was very rough in the begining and I probably should of spend more time in prep. I'll take some critism for the pro's any day. That how one learns... I'm hoping "box A" turns out well. I had a much better base to work from compared to the other box. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it turns out... Jon Quote Incriminator Audio: No Chrome, No Carbon Fiber, No BS!! kickerlivinloud
Haha, don't worry. It takes a lot to rub me the wrong way. Right now I'm putting these projects on hold. I'm working the desgin for my new setup. Atomic AP/SPL 12" in the reg cab. The port is giving me some trouble but hopfully I will have it finished by tonight. The sub should be here monday and then I'll probably start another work/build log... Jon Quote Incriminator Audio: No Chrome, No Carbon Fiber, No BS!! kickerlivinloud
Ok I started wet sanding. Here are so pic's of my progress.... Pre-sanding this was last hit with 600 grit and then had 2 layers of paint put on.. Another shot of pre-sanding. Plenty of water and 1500 grit paper. Its hard to see but the top has been finished. About 8-10 mins worth of sanding... Another after-sanding shot... This is how I start off the wet sanding. Water is just spread over the box and then I use the sprayer to get a good coat of water on the box. Next setup is to start sanding... I kept a constant spray of water when sanding so that the sander was never on just dry paint. I'm letting them dry off a little right now. That and I don't have any rubbing compound yet (it'll be here this afternoon). More pics will follow as I continue with the process so stay tuned!! I'm hoping for some good results....
