Tv Time Once Again

Recommended Posts

So every tax season the other half and i get a new tv for one of the rooms in our house this year its the living room.

Ive downsized a lot over the last few years due to moving out of a home into an apartment and having another baby etc etc.

so this year we're looking to downside a little more to a 47-50" plasma or LCD.. Ive found a few i like alot that have what i find as decent specs, not the best but good enough for us.

Basically any of them will be better then the rear projection RCA we have now that only goes up to 1080i and on 360 games its a little hazy.

we are looking to spend 1000-1200 on the set and im going to put like 300 into a decent looking stand to put it my center channel, receiver and 360 on.

so far these are what i like

this one isnt 1080 but looked real nice in person

anyone have anything they would like to add or any thoughts feel free to add in.

Also i know about the tradeoffs between LCD and plasma and dont care either way so i'll run either one or the other no problem

i looked at that LG also, didnt like the on/off button being like it is, its like where you barely touch it and it turns on or off like the ps3, i didnt lik that on the ps3 either, the screen was nice, but the philips was about the same clarity wise so i didnt see the 200+ difference

oh and btw i like the phillips most so far

functionality, aesthetically and clarity wise.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1202649424358 my ant and uncle got one like this and it looks great with my 360

^^^^this one seems like a good choice. If you have a chance, you should also check out Circuit City. I just went to the one that was by my house, and every TV was 15-20% off.

My mom just got a nice 42" Vizio from walmart for like 700 bucks, 1080p LCD, the picture looks amazing espeacially with the blue ray. And ive always herd that if you like to play video games to not get a plasma, that the HUD on the game like on a racing game etc the spedomoter or whatever will burn the image into the screen and theres no way to get rid of it.
