rumproast789
Alright well, this is my second real system. My first one was a package deal with sony xplods!!!!! hah anyways, they sounded good for the price but after a LONG time of thinking, and I'm talking very long, I decided on the BTL. I have most of the stuff for the install, but this will be a pretty long one due to school, and my resources. I have an 02 explorer xlt. Here is a pic of it: I already have the remote wire, and the RCA's installed on the stock head unit (upgrading that later when I get more $$), and a 200 amp alternator. Heres what has to go in: (2 batterys) (third battery, can't decide if I want to put all 3, just the other two, or just this one?) I'll try to keep it updated 2002 ford explorer 200 amp rewound alt single 18" Fi btl fully loaded 2 1750's 2 c&d tech 88amp/hr batts 2 ought wiring cdt component set up front, cdt coaxials in back Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X693

rumproast789
Well there are two updates. Took out the third row completly, forgot to take pics while doing it because me and my dad got in an argument lol. I'll take pics of the after math. The box we built, then I took pics. It is almost finished all thats left is a double baffle. We were originally going to do flush mount, but mounting depth interfered with the port lol. Here are the pics: Port dimensions must have gotten messed up with the front part of box, whatever its my first build. I can put a filler piece in each side and then later on carpet it all up. (the screws aren't all exact, but no one will see them after carpeting. It is very sturdy and I'd rather have that) 2002 ford explorer 200 amp rewound alt single 18" Fi btl fully loaded 2 1750's 2 c&d tech 88amp/hr batts 2 ought wiring cdt component set up front, cdt coaxials in back Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X693
rumproast789
Here are some more pics of the box almost done! (stupid lowes cuts) We ended up flush mounting it! The blade was getting messed up and started going up in smoke so the last part of the 18.5" whole needed to be sanded. Has to be sanded some more still. What do you all think? 2002 ford explorer 200 amp rewound alt single 18" Fi btl fully loaded 2 1750's 2 c&d tech 88amp/hr batts 2 ought wiring cdt component set up front, cdt coaxials in back Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X693
aznboi3644
whats up with the port opening?? Looks to be hardly any glue contact area. Take some 1x1 stock and glue it around the outside of the port inside the enclosure to brace it.

Take some 1x1 stock and glue it around the outside of the port inside the enclosure to brace it. oh hey aznboi! I have a bunch of left over MDF because we got 4 sheets, 2 for free. So you're saying put a peice on each of the sides of the port, on the inside right? I think I'm just going to glue all around some more, to make it more sturdy. Like on the inside cracks. I don't know anything about fiberglass resin and stuff like that, so I'll save that for another box if I build another one Have any other tips/ suggestions? 2002 ford explorer 200 amp rewound alt single 18" Fi btl fully loaded 2 1750's 2 c&d tech 88amp/hr batts 2 ought wiring cdt component set up front, cdt coaxials in back Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X693

rumproast789
port looks small on inside of box its supposed to be the same as front opening dammit man. thanks for reminding me. I think that's what we screwed up. I just measured it, and the designs said to make it 20.5 length, 22 width. I made it the opposite on accident. No changing it now What would that make the tuning? It was originally 33hz. I can post the designs.... Can anyone help? 2002 ford explorer 200 amp rewound alt single 18" Fi btl fully loaded 2 1750's 2 c&d tech 88amp/hr batts 2 ought wiring cdt component set up front, cdt coaxials in back Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X693
