Neo_frog
Is it possible for ALL of the preouts to suddenly go bad? Everything was fine in my last install and not a month later, as soon as I hook everything up, there's a screaming hiss AND alternator whine coming from the speakers, and a low rumble coming from the subs. Even with the car off! (No whine when the car's off, but the hiss is still going). I didn't think much of it at first. I tried two other four channels and they all did the same thing. I tried two completely different sets of RCAs inside and outside the car and it continues. I've ruled out everything but the head unit now, so I wonder... It's not grounds because I have negative runs from under the hood and the amps are grounded to the battery bank on separate batteries. So basically all of the RCAs have random voltage going through them to cause the hiss and not even a month ago it was clean as a whistle. Any ideas? I'm not even sure if it's in the right section. Neo_frog
It's actually a Panasonic...maybe I'll try doing that but I think I'm gonna get rid of this HU soon and go with a better one. I'll let you know how it goes. Quote Need an install? Hit me up.[email protected]Got car audio questions? kentb
check your speaker wire if it got pinched by something. that happened to me before and it was the culprit Quote New System 2 10" Fi SSD, Sundown 1500d Build I build and design enclosures(cheap price), PM ME Kicker L7 Navigator(plexiglass, fiberglass, aeroport) Build BTL 18" Escalade(plexiglass, battery tray) Build http://www.kentbaudio.com Old System
Neo_frog
check your speaker wire if it got pinched by something. that happened to me before and it was the culprit Well I forgot to mention that I tried a speaker out back with direct hook up and it does the same thing. I got the rumble of the subs to stop by messing with the RCAs on the line driver, but the hissing it still going. I'm pretty sure the preouts went bad because I've tried everything now except a different source. Unless someone has any other opinions? Quote Need an install? raytard
try a different source for kicks and giggles, a 3.5mini jack to rca cable if you have one, and hook it to an ipod and see what happens. (both directly to the amp, and from the rca's behind the radio, just to narrow it down to definately being the h/u) some companies diode isolate the rca ground to chassis for some strange retarded ass reason, and if something happens like you pull rca's while power is connected and the prong touches ground, poof, no more rca ground (pioneer is notorious for it, iirc panasonic did it too on some of their h/u's, screens mostly) Quote Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC

Texas Tech
My pioneer had similar problems. The subs would rumble, noise through the speakers. I got a new alpine 9886 and its gone, however, there is still a little noise through the speakers (engine noise), im going to get better grounds and new RCAs and see if it helps. I never tried grounding the RCAs like many people on this fourm have, did you try that yet? Quote Baylor University Accounting
