Cop gave us a ticket for reckless driving and speed contest. Went to court and they dropped the speed contest but we got stuck with the reckless driving. It was a $500 fine. Neither of us could pay it so they added another $50 for a total of $550 and we made 5 monthly payments until the $550 was paid off. That was like 14 years ago too but they I'm sure they still allow you to make payments like that but who knows if it's still $50 to do it or not. Something to look into if you can't pay the lump sum all at once.
