no mistake on my end I'll keep the sq stuff to your car :)

I do want to get louder/lower and 4th orders are supposed to be great at picking up low end and getting loud but you need to power them properly

4th orders are suppose to be more efficient and not need as much power to get louder. I would have made that sealed section smaller, an 18 in a 4th order only need 1.75-2.25 cubes. Try and port the rear section before you go and add a bunch of power to it, 6th orders are more fun anyways. :spiteful:

thats so confusing to me that a ported box for an 18 needs 5-10 cubes depending on power and you are telling me it only needs 1.75-2.25 thats crazy.

a guy on CACO designed it for zak for me and he is pretty good with them and told us I needed to put 2,000 watts on it for it to perform

Yes the ported section needs to be large, that's where a 4th order gets it's efficiency from.

The sealed section is mainly for control over excursion. The bigger the sealed section the quicker your subs are gonna reach max excursion and possibly bottom out on the lows.

It is all trial and error when it comes to bandpass boxes, if it isn't louder then your last box then why wouldn't you want to tinker with it. :pardon:

Don't take this the wrong way but who ever designed that bandpass doesn't really know bandpasses very well. The usual ported/sealed ratio is roughly 3:1 and if your short on space 2:1.

If I were you I would go to Floridaspl.com and talk to Gmonk(Chuck) or mp3pimp(Robin), they will know more than your guy on CACO, trust me.

80inches on CA.com is good with bandpasses as well.

none taken I'm just learning as much as I can and I learned a lot while building this 4th order.

I will admit it sounded great very punchy and picked up a lot of the upper end bass.

iamsonic designed it.

and that is the number one thing to take into consideration I remember reading before I even considered a 4th order was bandpasses are trial and error and can be very tricky to dial in.

I'm not mad about it at all or anything just semi disappointed :friends:

Cool, if you ever need any designs I'm sure I can come up with something. :D
