95pimpalass Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 Well, I hooked up a solid audio f15d amp at 2 ohms, and it works, sounds clean, subs are properly hooked up, and all, BUT its not loud at all, like it was with my almani ca2600d amp which was only giving 750wrms. its hookep up to two 12L7s btw. What's wrong? It has a remote plug in dat is not being used.. could that be the problem?
95pimpalass Posted February 13, 2009 Author Report Posted February 13, 2009 The Solid Audio F15d uses a two terminal block for the bass remote, which is green and its model number is AKZ1550, So can I just splice a regular phone line cord along with a Bass Knob? the phone line cord has a red, black, and light green cable in it which one would i hook up to the amps two terminal block to get a bass knob to turn the amps bass up?
99vic Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 wow i havent seen one of those amps in a few years. i use to sell the hell out of those things before they went out of business, i think i still got a couple of the 4ch amps. iirc that amp does nowhere close to its said power REST IN PARADISE BIG RICH (Sqmonte) never forgotten Why do you guys ALWAYS dispute on NUMBERS????? That's what my amp does but yours may work differently. 91' Jeep Cherokee - The Heep Just Empty Every Pocket 96' Volvo 960 - The B◘x [sPL_4_U] HiFonics - Alpine Pioneer - Clarion Infinity - Kicker KnuKonceptz

eliassami5 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Haha dat didnt answer my question.. true...true What HU do you have? My pioneer has a subwoofer ON/OFF mode and when i first installed my system and went to play it there was hardly any music coming from the subs and then i realized the sub pre out was off, turned it on a wala. Are your gains set properly? is you're volume on the HU up? lol could be a million things 91' Jeep Cherokee - The Heep Just Empty Every Pocket 96' Volvo 960 - The B◘x [sPL_4_U] HiFonics - Alpine Pioneer - Clarion Infinity - Kicker KnuKonceptz

95pimpalass Posted February 13, 2009 Author Report Posted February 13, 2009 The amp actually has 4 30 amp fuses, so 120 Amps..
creyc Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Sure it's hooked up at 2 ohms? Did you verify with a DMM? And how did you set your gain? 2001 Chevy Blazer (2) SAZ-3000Ds (2) custom 18" Madmax subs in a second row wall Rockford 600-4 Pioneer PRS components Pioneer P800PRS deck
95pimpalass Posted February 13, 2009 Author Report Posted February 13, 2009 When I verified that the subs were hooked up at 2 ohms i checked on the amps speaker input with the DMM, & the gain I had set by ear, but i will do it by DMM as soon as i can, although im sure thats not the problem here.. I think that maybe i have to get a bass remote for the amp, but they dont make these amps anymore so can I just splice a phone type cord along with another bass knob..?
