da box king
jw, but why only 1 power/ground input? Edited February 12, 2009 by da box king
banginAltima
jw, but why only 1 power/ground input? If he went with dual power inputs he would have to tool up for a wider case. Tooling for a wider case equals more money. Quote If you build it, db's will come... NSPL World Record Holder Trunk 0-1800 watts---147.9 with 1722 clamped watts @ 40Hz(9-20-09). Derrick824
With only a 350a rated current draw a single run of any quality 1/0awg wire will handle the load easily.

sundownz
jw, but why only 1 power/ground input? This amp can still run with a single 1/0 - and as was mentioned it maintains our current case width. Anything larger will have dual 1/0 inputs. I might rate it the same @ 4 ohms as the 3000D to avoid any controversy... we'll see. I am trying to reflect what a customer would expect at a 4 ohm reactive load instead of just a resistive 4 ohm load - if you wire a big high current Class-D to a 4 ohm nominal load and then with typical musical impedance you are seeing 8 or more ohms half the time... you don't get much power. When I had two 3000Ds strapped onto an 8 ohm load (4 ohms each) the most power I could get after rise was 1800 watts on 16v!
