Derrick824 Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 if power is the same, and 2 18's vs 8 15's, and u know what ur doing 8 15's will spank 2 18's. You're assuming the subs are the same. MTs and BTLs are far superior to CVRs. I've used CVRs and probably gotten louder than anyone else with them but they still were not as loud as my single Nightshade with half the cone area on the same power in the same vehicle. Quote
jonathancullen89 Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 i get what ur saying but i have cvr's, i know what they can do. i know btl's are good fckn subs also, but 8 vs 2 come on Quote 1992 cavalier build 1992 blazer s10 kenwood cd hifonics hfi2500d 6 soon to be 12 12" hifonics hfi12d4's shit ton-o-wire Blurred Vision Audio Team SMD feedback/refs. clicky!-
Noob_On_Droid Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 The MTs have a tiny gap and minimal cooling, I would not use them for daily unless I had some recones handy. The cvrs are cheap, expect to replace them a few times if your giving them good power. As mentioned you will have a hell of a time with the box As well. The btl would be my choice of woofers listed because it will have flexible box potential, reliable, and loud. Although with Preston we put a mmats 4000.1 on each DC lvl 4 xl and sounded great and loud (152.2) so the XL would be my own personal choice with amps and space given Hope that helps Quote

Sp33dyG Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 go with some DC Lvl 4 xl 18's or Lvl 5's the MT's are basically SPL subs but they can be used as daily subs steve used the MT's for daily setup in the civic for a while IMO i dont think u would be alot louder with 8 15's than u would with 2 18's...8 15's would take alot more space than 2 18's would and its all i the build and how much power u give them and look at it this way 8 decent 15's that take up alot of space or 2 beastly 18's that can get just as loud or maybe louder than 8 15's and still have alot of space left over Quote the only person i wouldnt let build my box would be Ray. edog Posted February 16, 2009 Author Report Posted February 16, 2009 I already have 4-cvr 15"s in a ported box tuned to 27hz powered by a mmats 3500.5.It really pounds hard.I recently purchased another mmats 3500.5,should I get 2 re mt 18"s or 2-fi btl 18"s or 4- more cvr 15"s for a total of 8 15"s.I really do not want to wall it off with the 15"s that why i am asking but I want more bass.I have a 2001 suburban with 4-15s and still have the third row seat, the box or the 4-15s is 15.46 cu.ft with a 120" port 19.25"s long. Can anybody tell me if 2-18"s will work in this amount of airspace. edog Posted February 16, 2009 Author Report Posted February 16, 2009 Thanks to everybody except the person that called me stupid. If you think the questions to stupid for your taste, keep it to yourself.I know about cone area being more, but would it be worth the time, effort, or inconveniance of having a wall with 8-15 or abox with 2-18 bass wise.(is the difference in bass worth the hastle.
