I would get a DPMS. They are probably a little better quality than bushmaster, but not as good as colt. If you are just getting one for recreational, then it is not worth it to buy a colt. DPMS are definatly the best bang for the buck. Tons of police departments use them.

I just sold mine, but I would recommend a "sportical" 5.56. They don't come with a carry handle, so you can directly mount optics on the gun. They can be bought for $850 online.

Dats true foo

LMT is gett half of one of my paychecks in a couple of months. Their gas piston uppers are the best I have ever seen. My homie works for YHM (Yankee Hill Machine) up in Mass and they are also a VERY user friendly company. He is in the RnD department working mostly on cans but he also doubles as their on the road rep. He was just at the SHOT show (I missed again because of work) and he said there is some pretty innovative shit coming out very soon.

Call up the manufacturers help lines.A good gun company will be more than willing to help you find the gun of your dreams and help figure out what you are really looking for. I could spend $4,000.00 on an AR and all the bells and whistles in a heart beat if I don't restrain my self, but in reallity I know I am not going to fight the Zombie Armies off from my fron porch so I scale it back a little.
