kentb
i was just wondering if i go with 2 runs of speaker wire will it affect the quality of signal? because i only have 14 gauge available and i need to wire a btl. im thinking i could go with 2 runs of the 14 gauge. im guessing wire is wire but splitting it into two might cause some loss in signal or something. just need to make sure. i haven't tried it before so just need some opinions on this. thanks. kentb
Just wondering why you cant just get some 10 gauge or soemthing i have some 8 gauge here but if i can get away with having 2 runs of 14 gauge without losing anything. that would be a better choice because i have ALOT of 14 gauge speaker wire here. Decaf
most 14g is ~200 strands most 10g is ~450 strands most 8g is ~800 strands (knukonceptz for my example) so even two 14g is ~1/2 the strands of one run of 8g

Team_DC-Derrick
it was pretty self explanatory with what he said in the previous post... your losing alot of wire compared to the 8 gauge. it would take 4 runs to = 8 gauge... kentb
so there won't be any signal loss? i don't care about the gauge of the wire.. the question is about signal quality. i just said that i have 8 gauge available and i don't want to use it i didn't say that i want it to equal 8 gauge. Decaf
hmmm i guess no one can answer my question =( lol, i thought i did it was pretty self explanatory with what he said in the previous post... your losing alot of wire compared to the 8 gauge. it would take 4 runs to = 8 gauge... right... its fuckin wire just use dam 8 gauge right.... if ur talking about 3000w rms thru 14g vs 8g there will be a difference.... and tripling 14 gauge still doesnt compare to the normal gauge used for that much rms......imo... i use 8g for 1000w rms and up so theres virtually no loss.... really depends on speaker wire length tho
