The only thing you need to keep your eye on is when you mix a deep cycle (ie Powermaster or Yellow Top) with a starting (ie Red Top). raytard Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 some people will tell you they all need to be the same size for them to charge properly, and that you need an isolator between the rear and front batteries. you dont need an isolator feel free to run batteries of different size in the front/rear, worse case scenario, your car will theoretically draw more amperage from the rear batteries than the front, but big whoop, you're designing this to be able to handle 200-300amps for continued periods, 3 seconds of a starter wont do anything.
