IAMBUMP
Alright, I have an older kicker kx400.2 i believe it is and it's not working. I only found one little connection broken, which is pictured below. Would it hurt to try and push them back together and solder them lightly? It wouldn't void a warranty, and it wouldn't be a hassle, but is it safe? I don't have any other way to power it up other than a stand alone battery that was in my truck a while back. Is it safe to run it straight off the batt to test it? overall: broken part (up under the silver plate screwed in the side): other pictures: Quote If you've been doing something for 20 years, does that mean what you do it right??? __________________________________ Want: 2x Phoenix Gold RSD65CS Comp Amp Undecided AA Havoc AQ 1200 knu wiring set scew lugs for all connections Alpine IDA-X303 2v preout --this goes under the seat. Boon
Hard to say from the pics but it looks like a MOSFET has burned - take off the clamp and get some photos of that part with the broken legs. Chances are that it's a power MOSFET and the drive circuitry is messed up as well, so it's probably an expensive repair or a big paperweight. Actually looking at that pic again the FET has CLEARLY burned. It's fucked Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
