Most all new tv's (from big brand names) have minimized burn in. my family just bought a new samsung 52" plasma, and WOW. i read some of the features in the manual, and one of the big things is the anti-burn in, at set intervals it will shift all the pixels in the screen to effectively cancel out any burn in.

edit: spelling :P

Plasma all the way... burn in isn't as prevalent as it once was. And for the person who said the life expectancy on a plasma is low... plasma and LCD's are at about the same lifespan now.

i honestly don't even notice it, my understanding is that it only shifts a few pixels over... and on a 52" tv, a few pixels its almost impossible to tell from viewing distance

I do more gaming on my 50" samsung plasma than movies. I have never had any problems. If you are worried about the lifespan, get the warranty. I paid a extra $300 to have mine covered for 4 years. Providing what ever happens is not my fault, I basically get a new TV as plasmas screens cant be repaired.

with the way the two technologies sit right now, the biggest factor would be your room which your putting it. if it is a bright sunny room LCD would be best for the screen not having reflections. but if its going some where dark, like a basement, then a plasma may be best because these minimal things to be reflected.
