Not really.... I need a different lenses in order to do auto focus, manual focus ftl.

The D40 is a great camera. I was into photography for awhile. Lens do get expensive and so can the flashes. I had the 18-55 and the 55-200 lens. I also used a speed 200 flash. Be ready to get your self a top mount flash, you will need it. Your pictures will come out a lot better in low light conditions.

Here are a few of the pics I took. As you can see, you can get really good pics once you get to know your camera.

You are going to enjoy that camera, I bought my wife the d60 and I have yet to use it.. The picture quality is superb. Beats the hell out of our old little slim fit in your pocket camera.. enjoy it man...
