Good article:

I have had great success stuffing ported boxes too. Makes the box act bigger, which also lowers tuning. Great for home subs. Just have to make sure the poly is installed so it does not block the port opening.

Yes, or just staple it with a T-50 staple.

  • 9 months later...

There was a very good thread explaining why you shouldn't use polyfill in a ported box and where should you use it. There where many good answers and it was 20 or more posts... One long good thread.

But the search button can't find it. Can someone help?

(sorry for bringing up an old thread).

ive read polyfill makes your speakers work like they are in a larger enclosure

is this true how does that work?

i used this for when i had 4 shallow pioneers in my truck. it makes the woofer think its in a large cuft box. and it made a huge diff in sound with a sealed box

2 AQ 10'' HDC3 copper subs

1 3500d AQ amp

146.3db on TL with stock electrical in single cab truck at 32hz

RESULT: 1st place at comp, 3rd overall out of 20 cars
