VRSEX Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Ok first I'll start by saying that i'v allways had systems in my vechicle and did everything by myself but now I'm playing with the big boy toys so I'll tell you what i have and you tell me what i'm doing wrong here it goes.. Memphis 16-MCD2500 amp wired to 1 ohm, Memphis 16-MCD500.4 amp one of each, The big three all with o gauge wiring, HC800 Kinetic batery out back, HC2400 Kinetic bat up front, I'm investing into 2 Fi BTL'S 15's also wired into 1 ohm, and last but not least a second alternator total amperage between two alternators will be 275 amps.. So I guess my question here is right now I have just the one alternator of a 120 amps that feeds everything including the system is this the reason I blew my mojo two times, will adding a second amp fix this problem for me or what else should i do.. 2 DMX 15" massive Subs 3 Sets of 165 KRX3 focal 6.5 3 way 1 100 KRS focal 3.5 2 way 2 16-MC1.4000 memphis mojo mclass 1 16-MC4.125 memphis a/b mclass amp 2 KHC3800 Kinetik High Current Car Audio Power Cells in da trunk 1 KHC2000 Kinetik High Current Car Audio Power Cell under hood KVT-915DVD in dash
Team_DC-Derrick Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 you check your wiring in the back? possible ground came loose? brewer_brewer Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 if you don't have the voltage to feed memphis amps then they'll blow everytime. thats why i don't like memphis amps. they have shitty protection. So by adding a second alternator should correct my problem then is that what your saying.. As far as the amps go I wish I never bought them.. 2 DMX 15" massive Subs 3 Sets of 165 KRX3 focal 6.5 3 way 1 100 KRS focal 3.5 2 way 2 16-MC1.4000 memphis mojo mclass 1 16-MC4.125 memphis a/b mclass amp 2 KHC3800 Kinetik High Current Car Audio Power Cells in da trunk 1 KHC2000 Kinetik High Current Car Audio Power Cell under hood KVT-915DVD in dash
VRSEX Posted March 1, 2009 Author Report Posted March 1, 2009 you check your wiring in the back? possible ground came loose? Yes both amps are grounded right to the battery in the back and the battery has a solid ground to the seat buckle bolt.. 2 DMX 15" massive Subs 3 Sets of 165 KRX3 focal 6.5 3 way 1 100 KRS focal 3.5 2 way 2 16-MC1.4000 memphis mojo mclass 1 16-MC4.125 memphis a/b mclass amp 2 KHC3800 Kinetik High Current Car Audio Power Cells in da trunk 1 KHC2000 Kinetik High Current Car Audio Power Cell under hood KVT-915DVD in dash

Team_DC-Derrick Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 i would ground them to a diffrent spot to see if you have the same voltage drop.. that 800 is prob taking a beating back there, upgrade your 800 to another bigger one... imo... chubalicious Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 i would say you get the second alt and maybe another battery and you should be fine. Why you keep blowing the amps i because they arent getting enough power to them so they are being over worked and heating up a frying. More power should solve your problem.
