Herrie_V Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 As some of u know, my audi is broken for 8 months or so now. All that time the car has been parked in the backyard and i never looked at it again, untill today. Its been out all that time in the rain, snow, dust and i never cleaned the car. Im an idiot for being to busy and lazy at the same time for not cleaning my $7K expensive 3-pc set of wheels... I got some oxidation on the centers now and after cleaning, polishing them they look a lot better but still oxidated. Im thinking of powdercoat the centers black someday and leave the lips chrome, think that looks badass on the audi! Did the first rim today and got some pics. How to clean your rims, step 1: lay them down on the kitchen table U can see the oxi on the inside of the spokes: And also on the face of the center: Used some all metal polish from meguiars and must say its great! I still have to do the other 3 wheels and have to be happy with the result, first the car needs a new motor. What do u think? Accept the oxi or powdercoat them black? I hate to see my exspensive shit ruined... my bad Quote

Herrie_V Posted March 6, 2009 Author Report Posted March 6, 2009 Car is now on the brand new 18" rims i got with the car when i bought it. They match the car too i guess a little too small tho lol Quote
Mikesmith0890 Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 For being what they came with, they still look pretty nice. But def needs a bigger wheel to fill the wheel well. Get ur rims cleaned, but most important get the Audi fixed Quote AlphaDamp Sound Deadening CDL Mat - The best Vibration Damper Ever! Herrie_V Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 you have the chrome lip to help ya there True true Im gonna clean them all first and accept the oxi on it... Will powdercoat the black later this year. First i let the car being fixed and stay with the 18" wheels for some time, the brembo brakes fits in them I need spacers to mount the chrome rims when i have the new brakes and also roll the fenders out. And black with the chrome lip will looks badass! Quote
dwz Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 Dude isn't the purpose of Chrome to be extremely shiny? Why in the hell would you coat them black =( Quote
