Torres
ok so i finally decided to start redoing my center console. it's not going to be anything tooooo fancy. just displaying a volt meter, some switches, relocated a cup holder and a new compartment. there's my volt meter. it's red, not purple fyi console out UGLY wiring mess. ew...time to clean that up much better got rid of the controls and braced it at first i was just going to chop up a little of my console and just kinda jazz it up. the more i thought about it, the more i figured i should start from scratch. so i threw that piece away in the last few pics this piece will be kept tho. stereomayhem
Sounds like a cool project, get rid of those wire nuts though! Quote www.stereomayhem.com
Torres
the cup holder i'm keeping the base few layers of glass on it drying in the light got it out and trimmed up now those lil triangles you see, they're cut out like that to allow me to slide it in to place. there's 2 screws at the front i'm not going to be using since i wont have a top piece that pops off. so the whole thing needs to slide into place there's the bolts sitting in then slid into place
Torres
Sounds like a cool project, get rid of those wire nuts though! hahaha that's the plan. it was done a LONG time ago. i honestly forget what it goes to. everything else i was able to trace and take out. but when i start wiring all the odds and ends together i'm going to solder them. gonna find me some heat shrinks as well
Torres
the wood isnt quite as crooked as it looks get both pieces back in i glassed em together, but forgot to take pics this piece is going to get molded to the other factory piece, so it butts up to the dash without me having to do extra work Edited March 7, 2009 by ExpoSport
Torres
there's the new compartment just mocked up together. it's going to have a false floor so i can put the console in, screw it down at the base, then put the floor in that's my cut line to kinda blend it in to the factory piece and where my cup holder will be. and add some curvage these tabs are what will hold it up. they'll be glued in and probably glassed in a little cuz i dont want them falling off. would be a HUGE pain to have to fix. i have a few more pics, but i gotta get ready for work. so i'll post them tonight probably if i dont end up going out Edited March 7, 2009 by ExpoSport
