HondaMan450R Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 I just got a new 12'' Fi BL to go with my Rockford Fosgate T2000.1bd. I set the gain voltage to what the chart in the stickied post says to set it at, which is about 40 volts for a 1 ohm load. When I hooked the sub back up to the amp and play music, the output seems to be low. It does not seem to be nearly as loud as it should be. The sub is hardly moving. I do not have any bass boost turned on. One way that I confirmed this is my voltage holds steady @ 14 with completely stock electrical and a 8 year old OEM alternator. Someone please clue me in......WHAT AM I MISSING?

HondaMan450R Posted March 11, 2009 Author Report Posted March 11, 2009 I used a 30hz tone and I wanted to gain a little low because I know the T2000 is too much for a BL.

But is it okay if the voltage is higher than the chart suggests when I play a different tone?

Guest Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 go to realmofexcursion.com (when it starts working again) and go to the downloads section, get a -3db 50hz tone and use that, tune your gain to 1500rms (or 1000rms if your alternator cant handle it, but try 1500 first) and your set.
E-Train Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 An amp is supposed to produce the most at a 50hz tone or so i am told, and if you set your gains at 1500rms, its not gonna push 1500 the gain wont turn your power up or down, it just adjusts your input sensitivity from your headunit, so if the t2k is supposed to do 2k rms, then set the gains for 2k rms not 1500 or any other setting. 1997 4 Runner Alpine CDA-9886 4 Fi Audio X Series 12's 1 Crunch GP3000D Pro DC Power Inc.
