ptcary Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 I had to switch over to Sirius when I changed from Alpine to Eclipse and was wondering if you guys had any ideas for antenna placement? My last one was on the roof, but I am wondering if I can put it in the dash under the pad. (That is where Chrysler puts the nav/GPS antenna in PT's). Do these satellite antennas have to be sitting on metal to get good reception? PTCary 2003 SMD PT Cruiser 2011 Honda CBR 250R 2010 Mazda 3i Sport MY BUILD LOG
G_Fresh Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 Dash works but cuts out a lot. I would put it on the roof in the middle of the windshield for better connectivity.
C 45. Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 that should work good as long as there is no metal on top of it must be nice huh
ptcary Posted March 14, 2009 Author Report Posted March 14, 2009 that should work good as long as there is no metal on top of it I guess the front roof above the windshield is where it will end up, my roof rack is kinda permanent cause I would need it if I had a flat tire! sactownstang Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 Just so everyone knows XM has a 2 week free preview, I think sirius might be too! I agree on the roof is where that antenna goes!
