I got an 04 ford f150!!! i was thinking a kinetik 2400 to run truck and upgrade the alt? but the ?? is is that gonna be enough??? i dont want to connect everything till i have everything so the first time i hear it its to its full potential i dont want to half ass it cause then im just gonna get disappointed

i can sell ohio gen alts for our truck. they arent cheap though.

DC Power has great alts for our trucks and as well as iraggi. good luck finding a dual bracket if you ever upgrade in the future though. You'll need a 6G plug on the alt.

pm me for info on the ohio gens.

and you can get kinetik 2400s on ebay for like $300 shipped.

very pointless post. you just sent him to 3 different sites and he has no idea what to look for on any site.

A good battery would be Powermaster or Kinetik. Id say it be best to put either a powermaster d3100 or kinetik hc2400 in your trunk by your amp. These big batteries weight about 80 pounds and will run you anywhere from $300 to $400 shipped brand new.

or

http://www.kinetikaudio.com/

And just for a side note, the powermaster d3100 battery and the kinetik hc2400 are very compairable to each other BUT the powermaster d3100 battery is almost always cheaper in price, and will do more max amperage, and has a higher AH rating which are key things in batteries.

A great wire at a great price is the Knukoncepz Kolossus Fleks Kable. You are going to want to use 1/0 gauge wire for your power and ground.

It cost $3.25 per foot.

or

if you want to save some more money, use their KLMX kable that costs $1.75 per foot. Note this wire does withstand as much current flow as the fleks kable, but with a big battery by your amp it will be fine.

You can also get your fuse holders, fuses, rca cords, ring terminals from knukonceptz at a good price.

A upgraded alternator is a must have when you get into high powered stereos, your amp will drain a bit of juice but for the mean time you should be pretty good with the stock alt. A highoutput alternator is going to cost you the most. Depending on vehicle and size, youll be looking at $300-500 for a good high amperage alternator.

A few decent companies are:

Dc Power

http://www.dcpowerinc.com/

Mechman

http://mechman.com/store/index.php

Ohio Generator

http://www.ohiogen.com/

For the mean time if you decide to run the stock alternator, I will suggust a MLA module (missing link audio). This module plugs into your alternator, and will allow your alternator to charge at a higher voltage for keeping your batteries maintained to their fullest! They are only avaible for some vehicles so you would have to ask to know if one is availble.

These work on Stock and aftermarket alternators, so when you upgrade your alt, it will work with your new one, and your stock one.

They cost about $200-300 shipped.

I also want to suggust to you to do the "big 3 upgrade" under your hood.

You can find out what it is and how to do it here

its a simple swap, you take the old alternator off, and reinstall the new alternator just as how you took the old one off.

Most the time its 3 or 4 bolts. Your alternator maybe in a hard to reach spot making it difficult tho. But you could be the judge of that by opening your hood.

I believe what dwright was referring to is doing a dual alt setup (2 alternators on 1 truck) which can be a pain becuase you got to pray that a alternator company makes a aftermarket bracket to bolt the 2nd alternator up too, or you got to custom fab your own bracket.

I dont recall you saying that you want to run 2 alternators unless i missed it somewhere, nor do I think you would need 2 alternators if you just got 1 good 250-300 amp alternator.
