Optimum is a strong word...only you can find that.

Why do you need kerfs? And what type of box are you looking for?

i like the way they look and PERFORMANCE, sub up port back and maby mount the amp on the box.

Well I like that you are adventurous, but honestly, they are a lot of work. And they are even worse if you don't know how to do them. I agree with the subs up port back, or both firing back.

I guess I don't know where or how you plan on kerfing. I guess you could build a normal box and have one side of the sub as a port wall, but it'll be very tricky to build if you've never done it.

Why not start with sub up, port sideways with the front of the box plexiglass with a decal and some LEDs? That would be MUCH easier for a starter and would probably look better. Just make sure the port is "behind" the sub so as not to affect view of the motor structure through the glass.

How does that sound?

yea id go with what he said sub up port out the side would be sweet and some plexi always adds to the box looks great and its quite simple i was gonna try kerf cutting on my box but i decided to back down off that idea cuz i looked up what all had to be done and i dont have the resources neccesary not saying you dont but there alot of work and its no easy task bending wood lol but listen to this guy dont really know him but hes a good guy and seems quite knowledgable

if he thinks he can build it then more power to him.

where is this box going? in the back?

what do you want it tuned to? FI's specs?

do you want double baffle?

give me some idea of exactly how you want it and i'll help you out.
