brsteinbach
As the title states i was wondering if the enclosure volume has a big impact on the lows. Because i have a 10 in 2.5 cubes tuned to 30hz and it destroys the lows. But on the other hand i have two 12's in about 2.8 cubes maybe less tuned to 30hz and the lows are really crappy or they just sound like strait ass. Just odd because of how much of a difference their is between the two. siucsaluki11
I had my 2 12s in a 4.4 ft^3 (after displacement) box tuned to 35 and it hit the lows pretty well. I just built a new box, 5 cubes after displacement tuned to 30 Hz. Using the same subs, it now pounds on the lows. Try using a program like WinISD to help you in figuring out how much volume and what to tune it at. Torres
yes. enclosure is 80% of an install. going a lil bigger on the box specs will help with the low end, but decreases power handling to an extent (tho you should still be able to give it the rated RMS power if you're in spec range). and going smaller takes away a little from the low end, while increasing the ability to handle power to an extent. brsteinbach
Sorry to bring this old topic back but I will be building a bigger box soon, hopefully if you guy's think it will help. I was wondering if I built a new box about a cubic foot bigger tuned to 30hz, if it would help on the lows a little more. Because right now since it 2.8 cubes tuned to 30hz it only gets down to around 36 and I loose everything under. The new box will be 3.7 cubes after all displacement tuned to 30hz. Once again this is for my two 12's in my sig...Infinity 1252 Any help would be awesome guy's, Thanks! liftedranger08
I made a 3.3 cubic ft box after displacements for 2 10s and they kills the lows. I would think like a 4 cubic ft box for 2 12s would kill them to. liftedranger08
NP. Im not a pro at making boxes, im just going off what i have done. The 10s were tuned to 33Hz and still killed the lows. Let us know what you decide and post pics.
