got a friend whos on a tight budget and really doesnt want to spend alot of this hobby..what he has is a 2001 pontiac grand am 4 door and he wants to keep the factory speakers and add a alpine head unit,1 15'' sub in a sealed box and a mono amp..what do you guys think?

If I was on a tight budget and just wanted a lil something I'd do the same thing except I'd use a ported box. Get something like a single Kicker CVR 15", a decent 500watt amp, and build your own box.

It should sound fine as long as it has the Monsoon system in it. It is decent on the upper end but needs more on the low end. My GF & Bro had the same car so I can relate.

about $153 more..might be worth thinking about..but im sure he'll say if i had the extra 153 hed rather get some speakers..lol but thanx for the suggestions i'll see what he decides..

If it doesnt end up sounding right he could always later on down the road add the speakers. Look on ebay theres components for cheap and 4 channel amps.
