NoFearX18 Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 This is for Steve and the rest of the admins. I couldnt find the bug reports section, so i apologize if its in the wrong spot. Over the past few days I havent been able to log on from any of my home computers. I've talked to Chode69 and he said hes been talking to the rest of the admins about it. Im at school now and obviously the site is working fine.... I tried to download Internet Explorer 8 and after that it wouldnt allow me on the site so i got rid of it. It still wont let me on the site. It either gives me a "cannot display webpage", "network timed out, the site took too long to respond", or "HTTP 406, the webapges format cannot be veiwed by the browser" After getting this I downloaded all the browsers (firefox, chrome, ect.) and none work either. Ive been on the phone with Microsoft, and HP for 15+hours over the past few days and they claim that there is no way its my computer because it allows me to go to all other sites except this one. The lady from microsoft said that she tried from her computer and got a "connot display webpage" aswell... Ive been trying my girl freinds comps, both her laptop and her desktop and both get a "connot display webpage error" as well.... I had my mom and here boy freind try on theirs and it didnt work... however i called my aunt and it came up for her. it also comes up for Chode69, and all the other members i have contact with... And at my school.... Please note that it is the whole site that wont come up. I put in www.stevemeadedesigns.com and www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board. This site is my homepage aswell and it wouldnt work. Ive tried adding it to my trusted sites, resetting my internet settings, reseting my computer over like 50 times, and i attempted to system restore but it wouldnt work.... I would greatly appreciate it if one of the admins could contact me through Email so I can figure out what is wrong with my computer... My Email address is [email protected]. I know that the admins are not responsible for my comp but Id like something to send to microsoft to show them that the site is indeed active and working.... I dont know what else to do... Please email me as i cant get on anywhere but here at school Thanks, hope I can get back on soon.... Dont know what Im going to do without this site.... wildbeast15 Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 turn off your security and try it again... some computers recently have been having trouble gaining access to certain sites on certain hosts.. hosts like the planet go daddy and hostgator have been having some serious issues.. The set up your talking about would sound great in my Tahoe. Trade you my dog for it. He has one eye but that only makes for bad depth perception so hey so what if he is running into shit, look at it this way he is easy to sneak up ninja style on. (right side only)</div>
NoFearX18 Posted April 3, 2009 Author Report Posted April 3, 2009 turn off your security and try it again... some computers recently have been having trouble gaining access to certain sites on certain hosts.. hosts like the planet go daddy and hostgator have been having some serious issues..Im pretty sure Ive tried that already but i will try again. Also I forgot to mention. I have no viruses or spyware ect. i ran multiple scans and all came back with 1 error and removed it. it was a tracking cookie... thats all. any other suggestions? im on here for the next 10 mins.... My Videos AQ + AA/Fi FTMFW!!!!!

Check to see if it is a name resolution issue. Go to a command prompt and ping www.stevemeadedesigns.com and see if it resolves to an ip address. sodfamily Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 Not 100% sure but at work we deal with a lot of callers with issues like this and there are a couple of things we will have the callers do to narrow down what is happening and on which side it is happening. (laptop or network) 1) Get into your DOS window. Easiest way is to hold down your MS Window key (bottom left corner on keyboard) and press R, this will bring up your run box. Type cmd and press ok. Now you are in your DOS window. 2) Type ping www.stevemeadedesigns.com and hit enter. You should get something like this back (below). If you get this message back and it still will not display the web pages I would say there is indeed something going on with your computer. When you get these 4 reply back messages it is tell us that your laptop is able to get to the web site and communicate with it. Now when you launch your browser (IE, Firefox, Mozilla or what ever one) it dose kinda the same thing but instead of giving you the reply back message it will put that into web form. I may be leaving out some aspects but that is it basically. So when you get those page errors it is telling us that it may be a DNS issue. Also have you tried to goggle it and try to access the web pages via those links? If it is XP there are a couple of NETSH commands you can run to maybe clean it up.
