milesmiles Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 I was running a 30 second, 50 hz tone earlier today and all of a sudden the sound on my 10 inch amp kinda died out (not suddenly, but you know what I mean). Would this have hurt the woofer, or was it the amp's problem? Also, is there any finite way to know if a woofer is actually damaged? Thanks.
troy Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 take it out and look at it. brewer_brewer Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 easiest way is to put a C cell battery or whatever size you have on the speaker wire. + of battery to + speaker wire and - to - granted all your connections are good the speaker should move. if it doesn't then its fucked REFS http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/itrader.php?u=2026 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/44535-official-brewer-brewer-feedback/page__p__625998__hl__brewer__fromsearch__1entry625998 "you're not allowing natural selection to work, you're like the guy that invented the seatbelt"
milesmiles Posted April 12, 2009 Author Report Posted April 12, 2009 Ok I checked and the sub still moves. I will look at it some more to see if anything is wrong.
