Was thinking about doing an install in my Galant and was thinking about running the port up through the rear deck, with the subs facing the trunk. Was not sure the port had to be a certain length in the box. Is it a good idea to run the ports through the rear deck? Thanks.
AI James Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 doesnt matter if its internal or external as long as box volume is correct. as far as portign through deck it should help the cabin get louder with less rattle out back.
Neo_frog Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 The more the port is in the box, the more space the port would take up which will ultimately affect your tuning. So it does matter. It'll be easier to change port size and see tuning with a constant volume of your box, but most port calculators don't compensate for that so you'll have to do it all by hand. Need an install?
