Is There A Difference Between Have 2 Woofers In The Same Box Or Having Them In Two Seperate Enclosures?

I wanna get 2 18in FI BTL woofers and i dont know what do do for an enclosure. im getting a rf t40001bd amp to power both of them. i dont know the exact max size i can make the box but its gonna go in a 94 jeep grand cherokee in the back. i wanna be able to keep all of the seats as they are. ill get the #s on here tommorow. i am also wondering which ohm woofer i should get i want to wire them to 1ohm there is a dual1ohm and a dual2ohm. i any one can help me with the wiring or the box pleasehelp.

Dual 1 can be wired to 1ohm, dual 2 can not. Whats your reasoning on wanting two boxes?

i wanna make one big box for both woofers. im asking if that will sound the same as havin a divider in the box to seperate the woofers. should i leave it open or divide it. i just meant the divider making it 2 seperate enclosures.

I always try to keep each driver in its' own airspace. One of the main reasons is it is easier to tell if one of the drivers is going bad. With the drivers in a common airspace the pressure caused by the good driver can "mask" the poorer performance of the bad one.

It really doesn't matter either way assuming they get equal airspace, port area, tuning, etc.. for each box. A benefit of multiple enclosures is more versatility when placing or removing boxes into the car.

You can still make one big one and do fine. Make sure they are braced well either way you go.

ok. does anyone know what a good box size and port tuned around 32hz would be for the two 18in fi btl. im gonna get a rf t40001bd amp 4000watt rms to power them.
