BLuejoules Posted April 29, 2009 Author Report Posted April 29, 2009 I havent had time to mess with my amp much, but its model is xa 1120. It also says mosfet power on it, and I have no idea what that means o.o IG: devinthydude
lanman31337 Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 Mosfets are black critters, usually with 3 legs. They also contain magic smoke, and more often than not when something goes wrong with your amplifier, they release the magic smoke. You'll probably see them under a heat sink of sorts, or some amps like the Jensen you have should have the fluid powered/cooled fets. 2 - Audiopipe AP30001Ds 1 - Lanzar Opti Scion 600.4 4 - Lanzar Optidrive 1232D's 1 - Lanzar Opti 5.1 1 - Lanzar Opti 6.1 1 - Lanzar Opti 6C midbass 1 - Alphasonic PCT6551 1 - Lanzar VX830 1 - JBL 22 band EQ 1 - Lanzar SDBT75NU 1 - AudioControl Epic160

raytard Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 dont make fun of the noob guys! amps dont have fluid, please dont drill holes/open it/put oil or any other liquid into it get a multimeter (like 12 bux at radioshack if you dont have one/cant borrow one) turn the dial to the "20v" part put the red probe on the amp terminal that is hooked to your battery, the black one to the terminal hooked to ground(just touching the screws you use to tighten the wires in is fine) if it reads between 12-14 volts youre fine as far as that goes if not, you have a problem with your power/ground line, check connections/fuses (under hood and on amp) if you had voltage and it still isnt on, take a small piece of wire and touch it to the positive terminal (again, the one that goes to the battery) and the remote terminal (smaller one, will say "REM" most likely) if it doesnt turn on, most likely the amp is fried Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC
