Blow Thru Port For Truck?

Recommended Posts

is that a metal support frame in between the bed and cab? what about the 2 flexin seperately? It looks great, but if it is a daily driver, isn't that something to watch out for?

If you're referring to this pic ...

it's made of MDF with 2 wooden dowels for support. It's painted silver metallic along with the rest of the inside of the box.

I did this so that the sound would be channeled into the cab, without worrying about "blowing out" the rubber accordian between the bed and cab.

On this install did you put the back seats in?Is the metal in this install aluminum?

This install was in a Ford F150 Super Crew, and yes the rear seats are in.

Here's a pic of the amps under the rear seat ...

No metal was used in the install. The box is made of 3/4" MDF and painted with silver metallic paint (from a rattle can) so it would reflect the LED bars better ...

Thats a very clean instal! I'm geting ready to start a project with a blow through. I beleave the accordian boot he was refering to is made for people with trucks who have snug tops and take the back window out. the boot is perfict for this type of instal. This will be my 3rd blow through instal. You will how ever, want to put some foam padding around the box where it meets the rubber boot to prevent damage and squeeking from the rubber boot and the MDF touching.

Thanks! It was my first and only blow-through.

No problems yet for my friend. The "port" is snug against the accordian boot, but there is still room for flex. I also routered the corners of the "port", so it would slice up the boot.

you can also just carpet the enclosure where it meets the boot..

One of the best looking and sounding blow-through's I've ever seen.

Designing, building, and shipping boxes. Yahoo IM - kingsuv00If the listening level is too loud, please inform the driver, so he can promptly pull over, and let you out.

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)
