I always carry a knife on me but I wanted something a little better for if someone runs up in my car while im at a red light or something. Here's some advice...leave room in front of you when pulling up to a red light, keep your doors locked while driving (My alarm does that for me) If someone does "run up on ya"...take off. I'd rather take a chance of draggin someone or smashing into the car in front of me then just getting taken..... If your going to carry a weapon of any type, learn how it works, how to use it and if you pull it...You better be prepared to finish it.
