Woofer Clipping? Casues? Help!?

Just a correction to the topic title:

The woofer does not clip, the amp sends the woofer a clipped signal which originates from either the song or the amplifier.

Clipping the signal from the head unit to the amp is a concern as well, if your turning it up full tilt for long periods of times it causes whats called a clipped or dirty signal to the amp which causes the amp to heat up, clipping also causes your subs to heat up you can check that by touchin the dust caps they will be warm or hot depending how long and how bad your clipping it. Also somthing else to think about is the subsonic filters etc. If you have your box tuned at like say 36hz your gains not set properly and your trying to play below tuning it causes subs to get hot QUICK!
