15VmaxXL Posted May 14, 2009 Report Share Posted May 14, 2009 I have an envoy xl 2 cerwin vega 15s and when my truck is sealed up (all windows and doors shut) i get some insane bass.. BUT as soon as i put down a window it becomes distorted. Just wanted to know if anyone else has this issue? Decaf Posted May 14, 2009 Report Share Posted May 14, 2009 well it depends on sub/port placement when everything is all sealed up u can get some good pressure built up infront of the cone... helping control the woofer if lets say the subs point up towards a hatch... but when u open up a sunroof or window u arent maintaining the pressure around the cone (loading)... so the sub can sometimes move more... and to your ear sound distorted likely u could mess around with ur amp settings to alleviate this, ur gain might be to high to begin with just food for thought pics would help Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
