fli_noize Posted May 15, 2009 Report Share Posted May 15, 2009 I'm going to be starting a build shortly for my boys 1990 Chevy box Caprice. We are going to be using 4 Kicker CVX 12's. I'm trying to decide if i want to build the box with the subs facing up and one huge port firing against the trunk wall. Or have the woofers facing the trunk wall and i guess porting it up. I'm just trying to figure out how I want to configure it. I want opinions on what everyone feels will be louder. The dimensions I'm working with are 55" across, 20" Deep and 16" height. And make sure you give the port a good distance of airspace. I would try to give each sub 2.25cubes of space. I have 1 12 cvx in my civic, slot ported to 33hz and 3.8cubes of air space and it slams for just 1.My box size is 35W x 16H x 17D just so you have an idea and my port length is 3"W x 21" total length. Interesting..then i guess i could do one big port firing towards the back..i have some serious math to do to properly calculate this port. skitsgko Posted June 3, 2009 Report Share Posted June 3, 2009 aye .. wat wud be a better set up ?? tha 4 12s CVXs or 2 15s L7s ... runnin a 2600 Brutus for rite now, gunna run it at 1 ohm until nex summer // but juss got a 250 mechman, d3100 battery and gunna do tha big 3 so ma electrical is set again for now .. if i do tha 4 12s each sub shud be seeing 650 rms but i kno those amps are overated so ill say 600rms/ sub opposed to tha 2 15s that i shud have plenty power for .. so wat are some thoughts??? thanks!!!
