MTX J30 Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 1.) How can you tell when your sub is broken in? 2.) What's wrong with playing sine waves? Or are they completely fine to play? Once or twice I have missed having a back seat / rear hatch, but all in all people love to see a walled vehcile. It just screams "i'm not fucking around with my setup, im loud"
HHR Ed Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 1. You dont have to break in subwoofers. After a while of playing most will sound better and have a slightly looser suspension, but not much else to tell. 2. You can play whatever you want, but do you wanna listen to sine waves all the time? A solid tone at full power can cause the coil to heat up more than music does, but if its at a proper power level, no damage will occur. HHR Ed Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 so i can play my sub full tilt as soon as i get it? or should i play it at half volume for a couple of hours. You can go full tilt right away. Power handling doesnt change, the sub will sound different after loosened up a bit, but thats about it. skittlesRgood Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 1.) How can you tell when your sub is broken in?2.) What's wrong with playing sine waves? Or are they completely fine to play? sine waves are more... pure, than regular music so if you tune to music you could clip the amp with a sine wave. use a test tone to tune the amp and your set. If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.
