Which Setup? Btl 15, Or Two Bl 12s.

well im not to satified with my 2 type R 12s in my truck, but i have yet to port them. but im planing my next system already for my truck. i want more and until i hit 140db again i wont be happy!

im going to limit the power range to 2-3K watts, and box size ruffly guessing i should have 5-6cubic feet to work with since i want to keep 1/3rd of my rear bench seat so i can still have 3 people in my truck.

my old truck i had 2 15inch RE SX subs with 2500watts which was kicken 140db which i loved BUT i had the rear seat completely gone which limited my trucks usefulness since it was just a 2seater.

and no way i would cut the cab and bed to do a blow thru. i use my bed to much and its only a short bed so i need the whole bed.

which do you think would be the better setup for being loud and sounding good for a daily driver?

id be tuning the box to 35hz

my truck seems to be the loudest at 40-45hz range. my old truck was at 140dbs at 45hz and my new truck so far looks like 40hz with the current setup only 129.8db sealed, ill be porting it this week! and the new 129.8score is with my splmeter i have.

i might build a swappable port setup this time just for a comp or daily driver. ill at least make it possible.

its way to soon for me to rebuild right away since my yearly comp is already around the corner/ next month so only time i have will be spent upgrading my electrical system and adding a port to my current setup. so ill have a year to piece together my next system.

Do you mean 40-45hz at 140-145 you are in mid-bass, as far as the subs go are you planning on going ported or sealed, with ported you will make your goal alot easier but it will take more space, with sealed it will take less space but might be harder to make your goal.

Edit: you said tuning so that most likely means ported

Well doing a bit of research the box for a ported BTL15 would need to be 3-5cubic feet.

and the box for two BL12's would be about 5 cubic feet, so basically both setups would be able to get into the 140's pretty easily, so its mostly preference although the BL's will win with cone area, so they have the potential to get louder. But as far as box sizes they are pretty much the same.

Edit: whatever combination you choose remember your box makes the most difference, so build a quality box, or have someone build you a quality box.

btl 15 has more cone area than 2 12" bl's

edit: x2, its all in the box. dont cheap out and buy one at a best buy or ebay. make your own.

o know how to build the boxes. its going to be custom built!

this is my current box i built for a stealth install. lifted the rear bench 4inches, fiberglassed floor. ill be adding the port on the rear middle of the box.

ive been building my own boxes for about 5years now. only thing that i usually need help on is t he port area.

i know both setups should be nice. but since i havent used either of the subwoofers im not sure which ones to use.
