jizazz12 Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 just finished my rebuild and now have a problem with one of my two set's of 6.5's. i just had a my jl 450/4 fixed by jl i bought it used and when i got it it was fucked up, anyway when i hooked it up it did the same thing as be for basically went up in magic blue smoke, whatever jl said they fixed it ( well thats another story) but my front door separates are not working rite only the tweets are working and I'm getting nothing out of the mid bass drivers at all. i did hook them up to the crossovers on my rear door crossovers and the speakers themselves do work so I'm pretty sure the amp fried the crossovers.does anyone know if i can get these crossovers repaired or can i buy new ones ? i know that you used to be able to by comp crossovers for these but not sure if you still can since the maxxsonics take over .the set is MB quarts qsc 216's. 2007 Chevy Impala LS 1 Crescendo 3KWP 1Crescendo C1000/4 2 DC lvl 4 15's with lvl5 dual .7 coils 1Audio Control Matrix 1 Pioneer P880PRS 1 300 amp Iraggi alt All power runs done with Knu flex 0/1 guage 1 optima yellow top under the hood 1 XS 5100 and two Deka's in the trunk 4 Crescendo MP-8 mid bass drivers 2 DB Drive p5 5 D Pro Audio tweeters

jbondox Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 good move on your part. those QSC's are an awesome speaker from Quart. depending on placement of tweeter and midbass, the crossover made all the difference with off axis response. On axis was really well too, but I always had to kill the tweet 2db. there was some research that went into that x-over, just shopping for "any" crossover isn't going to do especially a bass blocker. those speakers back in the day we sold for $800 a set, all day long, and everyday! very rarely any boomerangs or issues with them. Check to make sure your wires aren't grounded and pop the covers off the x-over and check if anything is burnt or missing SMD SuperSeller VerifiedJbondoXJames Shields
