siucsaluki11 Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Ok, so i was thinking of doing 2 18s in my s10 blazer 4dr. I have also been thinking of doing 4 15s. No matter what route i go i will be using AudioQue subs and amps. Im thinkin 4 HDC315's or 2 HDC318's. Either way ill be running a pair of AQ2200Ds for the time being, unless i decide to go with 2 AQ3500Ds for the 15s, but ill probably keep it at the 2 2200s. Anyone have any input on what they would do? Im going for a DD that i can get as close to a ground pounder as possible. Im lookin for it to be loud and still sound good. I know im going to have to do alot to my mids and highs so they can keep up, and im planning on that. woman..cant live with em...cant shoot em...guess were all fucked You might be a Redneck if you use your leftover gutters for a speaker box port... This works for till i get the blown amp fixed] Alpine 4ch salvaged from blazer (currently near death)9887 peerless 7s in the doors and CDT tweeters ran active no speakers in the rearKintik HC1400 under the hood.metered once a while ago, dont remember it...was piss poor compared to the blazer, mid 130s i think....looking to replace subs and amp when i have money.
bkolfo4 Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 When I ran the same model subs, (4) 15's vs. (2) 18's, with the same amount of power in my suburban wall, they metered within .2 dB of each other. But for music, the (4) 15's were much louder, as they peaked 7 Hz lower. Brian Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.
