bennett15
Im still trying to figure out why my brutus went up in smoke. the only thing i did diff. was changed the ohm load from 1.6 at the amp to .7 the amp is 1 ohm stable. it ran for about 2 mins and i could barely hear anything from the sub so i turned the volume up more and it sounded like it went into protect and out a few times? then i looked back and it was smoking a lot. Amp still turns on and no fuses were blown but it stinks like sh*t and sub doesnt even get a beat to it? 98 Dodge Durango 12 000K 50/55W Headlights 12 000K 35W Fog lights HU Panasonic CQ-VX100 7" Reciever (1) Fi SSD 18" Fully Loaded (1) Ported box 33hz (1) Soundstream TRX1500D (1) Soundstream TRX2.440 (1) RE 6.5" Component Set (1) Rear battery Big 3 in 0/1 gauge 2 runs of 1/0 Gauge wire 250A Alt soon.. Boon
Your output section is fucked most likely. Do you really need to ask the question? The reason it blew is because you tried to run it at 0.7 ohms. Doesn't sound like your electrical is up to much either based on your sig. 10.x volts fo' life! bennett15
yes i do actually the amp is only 4 months old. and .7 ohm after the box should have been fine with box rise on a 1 ohm stable amp. And i have a stock 130A alt big 3 in 0/1 and a rear batt volts dont drop pass 13.8 98 Dodge Durango 12 000K 50/55W Headlights 12 000K 35W Fog lights HU Panasonic CQ-VX100 7" Reciever (1) Fi SSD 18" Fully Loaded (1) Ported box 33hz (1) Soundstream TRX1500D (1) Soundstream TRX2.440 (1) RE 6.5" Component Set (1) Rear battery Big 3 in 0/1 gauge 2 runs of 1/0 Gauge wire 250A Alt soon.. wL<3bass
when you wire dual 2ohm subs which is really (1.4ohm) per coil it wil read as 0.7ohms.....and it shouldnt have smoked unless you were dipping to low in voltage......or your gain was cranked to high. bennett15
no it was set with a dmm a few months before i dont see why going from 1.6 to .7 would make it smoke instantly sub never even played 98 Dodge Durango 12 000K 50/55W Headlights 12 000K 35W Fog lights HU Panasonic CQ-VX100 7" Reciever (1) Fi SSD 18" Fully Loaded (1) Ported box 33hz (1) Soundstream TRX1500D (1) Soundstream TRX2.440 (1) RE 6.5" Component Set (1) Rear battery Big 3 in 0/1 gauge 2 runs of 1/0 Gauge wire 250A Alt soon..
