how can i stop an alternator wine? its only going threw my 6 chanell amp not the sub amp? it gets worse as i rev the car as well... i cant hear it once i turn it up but its a little annoying at low volume haha

He means that he is getting radio frequency interference (RFI). Its not really from your alt, you probably have you power wire ran too close to your speaker wires. Also some times if you have your tweeter to far from the mids you can some times pick up RFI.

Cliff notes:

- Run power lines and RCA cables down seperate sides of the car.

- Use shielded RCA cables.

- Only use cables of the length you require - measure up and buy the shortest cable that will reach.

- If avoidable, don't wind up the excess.

- Consider using ferrite rings on your cables.

- Consider fitting a suppression capacitor to the alternator.

- Ensure you have a good earth (ground).

- Ensure the head unit has a power supply choke.

ahh that explaines it lol alll the wires are ran down the same side ( my bro wired it all when i was gone...) and there was no access hole on te other side i guess im going to have to deal with it lol

Do you have a Pioneer headunit? I've had enormous terrible spaghetti installs before that haven't picked up induced noise but you get 1 Pioneer with a popped fusible link and you will have TERRIBLE alt whine.
