pstone11 Posted November 5, 2006 Author Report Share Posted November 5, 2006 Well - it's time to bring this thread back - I went almost two months without messing with anything, but it's about time - 90 percent forced, and 10 percent because I'm bored. What happened was that my crossover started feeding back and f***ing everything up. I lost half of my back door components and ended up not wanting to drive the truck so I wouldn't lose any other speakers. I didn't mess withe any of this stuff when I installed everything else, I guess I should have. So... it's time for the front half to get refinished. Replacing the crossover, deck, all the RCA's, adding a EQ and an ipod interface. Here's a couple pics of the old stuff. pstone11 Posted November 5, 2006 Author Report Share Posted November 5, 2006 I have to make the DQS, 6xs, Ipod interface, both remote knobs (amp and x-over) into the center console, so I'm going to lose the inner liner and modify the bare console. maybe fiberglass, maybe aluminum, not too sure yet. I have a good spot for the the DDC in the dash where the factory CD player was. Can't wait to hear it. Hacked all of the supports out so the sides were flat, cut out the sides, put some primer, gray texture, then some crazy speckley paint on there. Once those firmed up , I cut the jigsaw piece for the bottom, then repeat for the paint.
