mikeymike Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 i got 2 10 in alpine type x subs and a jl audio 500/1 they are in a built to spec box and at low level the subs sound good but when u turn it up they start to bottom out it sounds like and the amp is all the way down i dont know whats wrong can some one help me my brother got the same set up but 12s and his does not do this and we got everything the same but the sub size and the amps are set the same with the radio thanks for the help

mikeymike Posted June 9, 2009 Author Report Posted June 9, 2009 the box is ported and im runing everything at 4 ohm and the subs amp and box is new but like i said my brothers does not do it and he got the same set up but 12s and his hits harder them my dads jl w6s and everything is all the way down it is set up just like my brothers a shop told me that its because mine are in a van and my brothers are in a trunk

Solid_State Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 are your subs out of phase? definitely check that make sure your amp isn't clipping, check to make sure no wiring is loose you might just be pushing that amp too hard, those subs will take a lot more power than 250 a piece
