I havent seen his though - thats beside the point, and has nothing to do with this thread. Lay off him and stay on topic - or find your way out of this conversation. And what is all this about you have to screw from an angle and if you screw straight it will nick the surround? I had btls and I never had to screw it in from an angle. I always screwed it straight down with no problems. Unless you guys are using washers as well lol. my box is about 5 years old. I didnt use tnuts, i just used very large industrial fasteners and over time, they took their toll on the wood (from putting subs in and taking them out). Now, i have to go in at an angle to find some good "meat" to grab on to. The box is needing a redo VERY badly but it still works great so im in no hurry. Im actually waiting on my SMDs to be released before i do the rebuild. So that is the reason i have to go in at an angle - other people go in at an angle when they made the cut-out hole slightly too big, or they dont put it in straight because thats just how it went. All you ahve to do is be a LITTLE bit at an angle to scrape the sub surround and make that EXACT same mark. If its MORE then a mark and all the way thru, then thats a whole nother story......
