Rogers Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 ok so i have a 93 chevy lumina and im wanting to add another 105 amp stock alt in place of my ac pump.... i shouldnt have any issues with fabbing the brackets for it... ive got plenty of resources(scrap steel, welder, torches, and basically every craftsman tool ever made..) anyways im not sure what im supposed to do about the wireing... i know for sure that the alt has an electical plug and a positive terminal... what all do i need to do to make them both work correctly? do i just get another male plug and splice into the wires on the existing alt or is there something else i need? and what about the positive wire... can they both be ran directly to the battery or will they cause damage to each other? when i add this second alt im going to upgrade my big 3 well 4 when im done... with 0awg wire.... any information you can give me will help... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/79921-rogers-700-dream-car-update-page-17-a-wall/?p=2335774 93 Saturn SC2My system4 SA-15's Walled 2 Cerwin-Vega S2000's 3 Kinetik Hc2000's Dual 200amp alts. you guys done with the peepee touching contest or do I need to end it?

Well if they are the same alts then wire them the same thats what i did and worked fine for me ..if you have two different types of alts then you need to get in touch with mechman or someone besides Irraggi cause he will never return your email or call at least from my experience...or get a hold of TRS Electric in Orlando Florida they will tell you what needs to be done..hope that helps..google some alt shops and call them that is the fastest way to get your answer..

Blue Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 If they are the same alts, with the same plugs, then you can just splice the wires together. I would solder(sp?) the wires together and put some shrink tubing on them. As for the positive posts on the alts, i have heard people add a wire and connect them both together and then to the battery. I dont run mulitiple alts, this is just everything that i have read or seen. formerly known as Blue86f150 its a 4th order just because its tuned in the 40z doesnt mean it wont reach down and jiggle your balls at sub 30 hz frequencies. Regardless if they were dipped platinum and were stuffed in Beyonce's twat.....way too fucking exspensive this sux camel dicks
Noobtastic14 Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 I can help Just wire your alts in Parallel!! Go to the local junkyard, and find a plug that works with your stock alt (the one your adding to the front) then take the wires you have going to your alt, and cut them ~6" from the alt and splice a second run take the second run and wire them into the second plug. So say wire #1 going into stock alt place goes into wire #1 on the front alt. I currently have a 110A 3000GT alt in stock location, and 130A 2002Explorer alt in AC position and i have them wired this way. A HELL of a lot better than my single stock 70A Shoot me a PM if you have a question -Drew **for the alt to bat wires (1/0ga) you can either go + to one alt to + to second alt to + on bat OR run each alt + to bat + I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional.
