brewer_brewer Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 make sure to keep the 12-16 square inches of port per cubic foot. your "bad" box had a little over 16 per foot. so stay in that ballpark when building the next one. i would suggest 14 square inches per foot. do some math on the port calculator and tune to 36 or so while keeping your port area. Boon Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 God, this was obvious from the very very start, a lot of decidedly average information in this thread.... The port is way too big. Is the sub a 12" or a 15" or what? If it's a 12 or 10 your box is too big. The box is tuned to like 50hz so the sub is unloading because it's being played way below tuning. And I'm pretty sure 99% of the 15 series subs are SINGLE voice coil. 10.x volts fo' life!
loburbon Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 i didnt waste my time reading the whole thread. you need 2.5cuft after displacements. that sub needs 42sqin of port. your box sucks period. im not going to sugar coat it for you. also that amp is not 2ohm mono stable. its two ohm stereo stable. when you run an amp at 2ohm mono, its actually seeing 1ohm stereo. theres a big difference in a 2cnl and a mono block amp. when you run a mono amp at 2ohm its only 2ohm. take some advice and rebuild the box. also dont wire that amp at 2ohm mono. 2000 gmc yukon 4 sundown Zv3 15's 4 dd m2a's kenwood kdc-x994 2 batcap 4000's 1 batcap 2000 dual alts. 154@37hz and climbing http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3231683 http://www.myspace.com/torque150
