Weightlifting/ Workout

5'10 205 lbs 18% BF

I am starting back in the gym tomorrow. Prolly during lunch.

I have been off working out since September due to an inguinal hernia and then PRK surgery.

Add in getting married always makes you put on weight.

lol i know, some of the clips are too big around for the bar so if you turn them the other way around like that, then they keep the weights from moving ;)

i need to start workin out too.

last time i lifted weights was my 10th grade year (04) :rolleyes: .

back then i only weighed 125 or 130, benched 165, squated & deadlifted 345 :).

my goal was to squat & deadlift 400 by graduation but had a couple injuries and quit football...

MOTIVATE ME!

ive been kicking some ass in the gym lately. got 300lb up on the flat bench yesterday, 365lb for two on the squat today and 340lb on the deadlift like a week or two ago...... so that brings the total up to 1005lb's bitches. im at 166-67lb or so bodyweight at like 5'6''ish. im going to try and bump it up a little bit more before new years...... so get to lifting bitches

well, its been a month or two since joining the gym again...I feel okay, but dont feel serious enough. I decided to give All Pro's (from bodybuilding.com) workout a shot because I am seeing minimal gains. Here is how it works, copied from his thread at BB.com....

"A Simple beginner's Routine

You will do 3 work outs per week on non consecutive days. The first work out is your heavy work out. The second work out is your medium work out, use 10% less weight for your work sets. The final work out for the week is your lite work out, use 20% less weight.

Do a lite warm up with 1/4 of your work sets weight. Do a medium warm up with 1/2 of your work sets weight. Do 2 work sets with the same weight. Choose a starting weight and start light.

These are the seven exercises you will be starting with.

Squats

Bench Presses

Bent-Over Rows

Overhead Barbell Presses

Stiff-Legged Deadlifts

Barbell Curls

Calf Raises

You will be running this program on a five week cycle as follows:

The first week do all 4 sets for 8 reps.

The second week do all 4 sets for 9 reps.

The third week do all 4 sets for 10 reps.

The fourth week do all 4 sets for 11 reps.

The fifth week do all 4 sets for 12 reps.

If you got all of the required reps on the fifth week then increase the weight by 10% and

repeat the cycle. If you didn't get all of the reps on the fifth week then repeat the cycle with the same weight. You shouldn't need more than one minute rest between the warm up sets and you shouldn't need more than one minute thirty seconds between the work sets.

Do some cardio and abs work on non weight training days. "

I'll be the first one to say that this workout is fuckin serious!! I just finished the first workout and feel exhausted...But that is what light and medium days are for! I cant wait to see how this works out five weeks from now...

And please dont give me shit about doing too many body parts in one day...its only 4 sets of each (and 2 sets are pussy warm ups lol)

But yea, deadlifts are killer :D
