travo19 Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 I bought a couple of the DD 9512g woofers and I plan to put them in my blow-through but first I was wanting to know what type of power they can actually handle. I see numerous posts from people saying 2k all the way to 5k. I have 2 IA 40.1's that I would like to use on each one if they could possibly handle it. I have the voltage to support them as well. So any input is welcome. Good buy or no? Quote Ascendant Audio 8 AA Havoc 15's in a 4th order
Boon Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 They will take it fairly well. I run ~4kw to a single 9515 daily and it does get hot and smelly if I clip it or play low frequencies for more than a few minutes. Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
audiofanaticz Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 I run around 4krms to each sub when both amps are running. mainly for a daily drive i wire to 1 amp and its plenty loud at a 147+db burp. Just as long as you keep your power clean and unclipped you shouldnt have a problem. DDs subs are severly underated. Quote
